Meet the Owner:
Hi, my name is Doug Frazee. From as early as I can remember, I was raised in the woods or out on the lake—fishing and hunting were simply a way of life. My grandfather introduced me to hunting squirrels and rabbits in the small town of Muncie, Indiana. As I got older, my passion for the outdoors grew. I transitioned from hunting to trapping, and eventually to pursuing fur-bearing animals with dogs.
I moved to Texas as a teenager, where I began hunting dove and deer. I couldn’t get enough—the seasons felt too short, and the bag limits never satisfied my love for the hunt.
In my twenties, I became aware of the growing hog problem around the Marion, Texas area. This new challenge sparked my interest. I started hunting hogs on a ranch with a bow and arrow, then transitioned to nighttime hunts using a red light mounted to my rifle scope. Over time, I noticed the hogs adapting—even the sight of their own shadows would spook them.
Eventually, I was introduced to hunting with dogs, and I immediately fell in love with the process. Watching cur dogs locate the hogs and Dogos catch them was an incredible experience. Armed with just a headlamp and a knife, I spent years in the field. I also began trapping hogs, not only to control populations but to train my dogs—this approach opened doors to new properties and opportunities.
As I got older and underwent back surgery, I had to step away from hunting with dogs. But my passion for helping farmers and landowners manage destructive hog populations never went away. That passion led me deeper into trapping and eventually into using night vision technology.
I began designing and building different styles of traps: box traps, figure-6 traps, and drop-gate traps. As technology advanced—with cell phones and apps becoming tools for trappers—I paid close attention to the common issues people faced. Net traps often failed because hogs would chew through them. Drop-gate traps sometimes fail to deploy properly.
I remembered a box trap I had designed years earlier, featuring a roller-bearing door system. That concept came back to me—literally in a dream—and it sparked a new idea. I envisioned a trap that could eliminate the most common failure points and offer a reliable, long-term solution.
I got to work building that trap, just as I saw it in the dream. I reached out to camera companies to collaborate on a system designed specifically for trapping—without needing to modify the camera or void warranties. Anywhere Cameras stepped up and partnered with me to create a camera solution that worked seamlessly.
After testing and refining the trap in the field, I finalized the design. Today, I’m building fail-proof hog traps featuring a roller bearing door system that locks upon closing, preventing hogs from lifting the door and escaping. These traps come with a factory-warrantied camera system, 5-foot panels, and a 1-foot roller top that pushes hogs back into the trap if they attempt to climb out.
